Geogebra download
Here is a link to download a powerful and free software that makes graphing at home without a graphing calculator very easy. You can install sliders like we did on the NSpire today. I would not recommend you using this if I didn't think it was worthwhile. There is lots of online support and help videos on GeogebraTube. Below is an example of what can be done using Geogebra. Experiment with checking each of the boxes.
The Unit Circle, in all it's Glory
Each of the trigonometric functions correspond to segments that are related to a circle. Here is an illustration of that relationship.
Here are some web resources which allow you to interact with the Unit Circle
Try doing the activity at the bottom of this page.
This and this recreate what we did in class today on the calculators.
This link demonstrates one of the transformations we are looking at. The variable is named differently but the role it plays is the same.
Here are some interactive tools for the Unit Circle.
mathlearning.net
mathwarehouse
mathisfun
touchmathematics - great for visualizing relationship between functions and graphs
Online flashcards
There is an app for that! iUnitCircle
Graphical transformations from the curve bank (requires Java)
May help you understand radian measure better.
Here is a good description of what a radian is and why it is important.
This would be a great way to prepare for quizzes. Set the type of function, the speed, the percentage of radian and degree measured angles.
If you are interested in the history of the unit circle here is a comprehensive look.
Here is an interesting set of pages on the historical development of the trigonometric functions around the world - very multicultural. It is in three parts - 1, 2, and 3.
